MAAFS Convention Education Scholarship Program
Objective: This program is a proactive initiative to increase member fair participation at our annual MAAFS convention by providing financial assistance to small fairs and shows with registration, meal and accommodation costs in the form of an Education Scholarship.
Implementation: MAAFS residing President would be responsible for obtaining and renewing Sponsors for funding and awarding the scholarships.
Funding: The dollars allotted for the scholarship program are to be secured annually through sponsor support specifically designated for this program. The number of awards presented will be determined annually based on the amount of money available from Sponsorship contributions.
Scholarship Eligibility: Only member fairs planning to attend the MAAFS Annual Convention with Fair or Show attendance less than 100,000 may apply. Attendance figures for the current calendar year will be used to determine eligibility.
Awards: Applicants from eligible member fairs will be placed in a random drawing to be held prior to the MAAFS Annual Convention. Awards will be presented to applicant fairs to provide 50% of the cost for registration, meals and hotel room up to a maximum of $175.00. Member fairs may request to the President of MAAFS that this award be distributed among 2 or more conference registrants.
Sponsor Recognition: Sponsors will be recognized at the Annual Meeting awards ceremony and included in any public relations related to that Sponsor’s contribution.
Public Relations: The Marketing/PR Committee will be responsible for all PR related to this program.
An announcement for the Education Scholarship will be included with the MAAFS Convention materials posted on the MAAFS website.
The Education Scholarship Program will be promoted within the organization through membership benefits opportunities.
Education Scholarship Recipients and the Sponsors will be posted on the MAAFS website following the annual convention and included in the annual MAAFS convention program.
