LONG-TIME FAIR VOLUNTEER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS LEADERSHIP AWARD
SUE SULLIVAN PRESENTED WITH LEADERSHIP AWARD FROM THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY AGRICULTURAL CENTER
GAITHERSBURG, MD – During the Agricultural Leader’s Luncheon at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair on Monday, August 15th, Sue Sullivan, a long-time volunteer for the Fair, received the Montgomery County Agricultural Center Leadership Award.
This award is given to select volunteers who show a strong passion for the Fair and dedication to making sure it runs smoothly. Sullivan is a perfect candidate for this award, as she can often be seen going above and beyond the average volunteer to keep the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair on track.
Sullivan started volunteering at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center when she was only nine years old and was a member of 4-H in 1966. When asked what kept her at the Fair for so long, she said, “I believe in the mission statement,” and she thinks a lot of people take agriculture for granted. She continues to learn about agriculture and is eager to share what she has learned with others. She has been a member of MAAFS and IAFE for about 14 years.
