Each year the Maryland Association of Agricultural Fairs and Shows honors an individual with the Fair Person of the Year Award. This award is the highest level of recognition MAAFS bestows. The award is given to honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the development and promotion of Maryland agricultural fairs, shows and festivals. Fair Person of the Year recipients are individuals who exemplify the best in our industry by continually promoting and improving fairs in our state.

The MAAFS Fair Person of the Year is a peer award. Any MAAFS member may nominate a candidate based on criteria developed by the Board of Directors. The FPOY committee selects the winner, who is announced during the MAAFS annual convention. Click here to download a copy of the FPOY application.
